De una u otra manera tratamos de viajar en familia. A mi hermana menor le encanta viajar y a mi también. Gracias a Dios que permite y también provee con esposos viajeros.
Mi hermana menor vive en el viejo mundo (creo que así se le dice a Europa), Yo en los Estados Unidos. Mundos totalmente diferentes, de tal manera que los viajes en familia son esperados y muy deseados.
Mi Papá y Mamá se unen a nuestras aventuras cuando les es posible, mi hermana mayor se une a nuestras aventuras cuando los viajes son locales (por el area donde vivo yoito).
El sueño de nuestro Pa era conocer New York y ver el Niagara. Entonces ni cortas ni perezosas se hicieron los planes de fechas (justo el día que nuestro Pa estuvo cerquita a sus aguas, fue el día de su cumple).

El Niagara (ON, Canada)
Lo que nos encantó de el Niagara fue cuán potente se ve (cuando estuvimos cerca de el agua), cuan fuerte son sus aguas, realmente nos dejó impresionados!
Hay muchas cosas para hacer, a nosotros nos hubiera gustado quedarnos dos o tres días para ver el iMax, también hay muchos juegos mecánicos, así que tenemos la idea de hacer un viaje por carretera dentro de Canada (a ver cuando se nos hace).
New York
Sus grandes edificios son realmente asombrosos.
Hay mucho por visitar y hay para todos los gustos (los que quieren gastar mucho, o los que quieren ahorrar).
Si viajan con los más chiquis, recuerden rentar un asiento de seguridad con el auto. Algunas compañías cobran, otras no. En nuestro caso nos olvidamos de ese pequeño detalle, y es que por el lado Evans los hijos ya están grandes. Por el lado Peña Pinado, esa etapa pasó hace más de 1/4 de siglo, en cambio los Rüb, ellos si que están en esa etapa.
Nos alegra mucho que la más pequeñita de el grupo, sea realmente una buena viajerita (tiene su carriola), y entre todos ayudamos a subir y bajar la carriola.

Lo que nos vamos dando cuenta es que nuestros pas se cansan cuando las distancias para caminar son largas, y en Nueva York, se camina. Taxi para un grupo de 9 hubiera salido cariolos. El metro sirvió de ayuda.
Otra cosita para recordar, siempre es bueno preguntar a tu persona de Airbnb si se pueden dejar las maletas por horas extras. En nuestro caso, gracias a Dios, que nos dejaron. Una amiga mía muy querida estuvo dispuesta a ayudarnos (le pregunté a ella primero, y a mi hermana se le ocurrió preguntar al Airbnb).
Renovando la mente en acción
Como familia fue la primera vez que alguien nos agredió verbalmente (todas las malas palabras y palabras derogatorias que nos dijeron), cuestionaron nuestra nacionalidad; nos llamaron mexicanas, de la India, Asiáticas, Nativas Americanas, nos dijeron que nos regresáramos a nuestros país y también que nuestros europeos se vayan – todo esto con malas palabras y como tratando de buscar pelea. Este persona hizo el ademán de querer golpear a nuestro Pa (y se quedó en ademán).
Gracias a Adonai que provee con la opción de auto control, que bueno que nuestro grupo mantuvo la calma. Que bueno que estuvimos en familia.

Hay amistades que duran a través de los años. Alguna vez han ido a algún lugar donde te han tratado como hijo o hija querid@?
En Pennsylvania mi amiga y su esposo nos cuidaron como a sus hijos, con cada detalle que realmente dejo el corazón lleno de gozo.

A parte de tanta hospitalidad y cariño de los antes mencionados, lo que más nos llamó la atención fue la comunidad Amish y Menonitas, desde sus vestimentas hasta sus estilos de vida. Tenemos algunos amigos que creemos gustarían mucho de vivir en una comunidad así .
Pennsylvania tiene tantos lugares lindos para visitar. Tendremos que regresar!
Washington D.C.
Ese lugar está lleno de museos y las entradas son gratis. En nuestro caso, no somos mucho de museos (aunque esta vez hubiésemos querido entrar a cada lugar, el tiempo era muy corto).
Entonces lo que hicimos fue caminar a los lugares históricos y más llamativos (en nuestra opinión);

⁃ The capitol
Y nos falto cuánto otro lugar. Terminamos nuestro día comiendo comida Peruana y viendo que Perú perdió 3-1 en la Copa America 💔 – pero contentos de estar juntos!
A propósito, La costa Este de los Estados Unidos en verano es húmeda!!! Estuvimos empapados en sudor en muchas oportunidades.
Nos quedamos con ganas de más días para ver más cosas, o para tener tiempo libre y jugar juego en familia, para cocinar juntos.

We make an effort to meet as a family somewhere, my younger sister loves to travel, I do too.
Gratitude to Adonai who allows and to our husbands who show their love in action.
My younger sister lives in the old world (I think that is a nickname for Europe), I in the United States. Totally different worlds, family trips are very desire.
My Dad and Mom join our adventures when possible, my older sister joins our adventures when the trips are local (around the area where I live).
Our Dad’s dream was to get to visit New York and Niagara. My sister and I made plans (he got to experienced Niagara on his birth date).
On this trip we visited

Niagara (ON, Canada)
What we loved about the Niagara was how powerful it looks and sounds (it was sooo surreal to be closed to the falls), how strong its waters are, it really blew us away!
There are many things to do, we would have liked to stay two or three days to see the iMax, to enjoy the many rides, to go to a little town closed by.
Now we have the idea of doing a road trip inside Canada (let’s see when).
New York
Its big buildings are really amazing.
There is a lot to visit and there is something for everyone (those who want to spend a lot, or those who want to save).
If you travel with little ones, remember to rent a car seat with the car. Some companies charge, others do not. In our case we forgot that little detail. On the Evans side the children are already big. On the Peña Pinado side, that stage happened more than 1/4 century ago, on the other hand the Rüb, they are in that stage.
We are very happy that the youngest member of our group is really a good traveler.

What we realize is that our parents get tired when the distances to walk are long, in New York, we walked. Taxi for a group of 9 would be expensive. The subway was very helpful.
Another thing to remember, it’s always good to ask your Airbnb person if it is possible to leave the bags for extra hours. In our case, thank God, they let us. A very dear friend of mine was willing to help us too.
Renewing the mind in action
As a family it was the first time that someone verbally assaulted us (bad words and derogatory words), questioned our nationality (called us Mexicans, from India, Asians, Native Americans, he told us to go back to our country and also for our Europeans to leave). This person made the gesture of wanting to hit our Dad (and stayed in an attempted gesture).
Thanks to Adonai who provides with the option of self control, it’s good that our group remained calm. Good thing we were together as a family.

There are friendships that last through the years. Have you ever gone to some place where you have been treated as a loved son or daughter?
In Pennsylvania my friend and her husband took care of us as if we were their own, with every detail that really left my heart full of joy.
What did we visit?
– Hershey Park
– Independence Hall
– Shady Maple
– Lancaster
Aside from the hospitality and affection, what caught our attention the most was the Amish and Mennonite community, from their clothes to their lifestyles. We have some friends that we think would love to live like that.
Pennsylvania has so many nice places to visit. We will have to return!
Washington D.C.
That place is full of museums with free entrance. In our case, we are not into museums that much (although this time we wanted to enter each place, the time was very short).
So what we did was walk to historical places;
– The White House
– The Lincoln Memorial
– Washington Monument
– The capitol
We probably missed so much more, perhaps for another visit. We ended our day eating Peruvian food and seeing that Peru lost 3-1 in the Copa América 💔 – but happy to be together!
By the way, Is humid in the East Coast of the United States during the summer. We were soaked in sweat many times.
We would have liked more days to see more things, to have more free time to play games, to cook together,etc.
